Scar Revision:

Scars are an inevitable result of traumatic injuries or surgical incisions. However, there are "good scars and bad scars".

"Good scars" are those that are as thin as possible and in an inconspicuous position.

"Bad scars" are those that are wide and in an obvious position.

Scar revision is performed to narrow the width of scars and to reorient them, with the intent of making them less obvious.

Various techniques are used to achieve this goal including surgical excision, laser resurfacing, and dermabrasion.
